You cannot go to NYC and not visit Central Park. The city’s green gem, born in 1857, has several interesting points where you should just stop and enjoy: the model sailboats at the Conservatory Water, the Alice in Wonderland sculpture, the Bethesda Fountain Plaza, The Dairy, the Belvedere Castle atop Vista Rock, or the Bow Bridge – one of the park's most photographed locations. In the park's Strawberry Fields you can find the Imagine Mosaic, a tribute to John Lennon. You can enjoy the entire park with a bicycle ride, but be prepared with time to do it properly, so go early.
Cool Tip: Central Park has two ice skating rinks, Wollman Rink and Lasker Rink; during summer, the former is the site of Victorian Gardens’ seasonal amusement park, and the latter converts into an outdoor swimming pool.
