Navigating through Hogwarts Castle often leads to unexpected side adventures that reveal hidden passages and secret routes across the magical grounds. The Dissending for Sweets quest in Hogwarts Legacy offers players a perfect opportunity to explore a classic secret passageway while helping a classmate with a unique recipe. Understanding how to initiate this quest and solve its environmental puzzles ensures a smooth journey into Honeydukes cellar.
Starting the Quest and Locating Garreth Weasley
To begin the mission, head toward the Great Hall area in Hogwarts where Garreth Weasley is waiting. Speak with him to learn about his secret plan to craft a new beverage using specialized ingredients. He requests your assistance in retrieving dried Billywig stings from the basement of the famous Honeydukes sweetshop.
After finishing the conversation, follow your quest marker down toward the hallway near the Grand Staircase. You will easily spot the statue of the one-eyed witch standing along the corridor path. Interacting with this statue triggers the password spell, revealing the hidden entrance to the underground passage.
Navigating the One-Eyed Witch Passage Puzzles
Once inside the secret tunnel, descend the steps until you encounter a broken lift mechanism. Cast Reparo to restore the platform, then operate the lever to descend further into the cavern. Continuing down the linear path will bring you to environmental obstacles requiring specific spell applications.
Use Incendio or Confringo to clear dense spider webs blocking your progression forward. You will then encounter multiple broken or lowered platforms that need to be elevated. Combining Reparo with Levioso allows you to repair and lift these platforms into position, enabling safe jumps across the gaps.
Unlocking the Honeydukes Cellar Door
Near the end of the underground cavern, you will find a locked gateway flanked by two unlit braziers. Cast a fire spell such as Incendio on both braziers to ignite them and open the heavy door. Step through the entrance and climb up the wooden ladder to enter the basement storage area of Honeydukes.
Look around the cellar tables to locate the dried Billywig stings needed for Garreth's special brew. Grab the ingredients from the pathway counter before choosing to explore the shop above or return immediately. You can easily fast travel back into the castle to deliver the item and finish the quest.
Quest Completion and Available Rewards
Return to Garreth Weasley in Hogwarts to hand over the gathered Billywig stings. He expresses immense gratitude for your efforts and promises to share a sample of his completed drink later. Completing this assignment awards experience points alongside a valuable Conjuration spellcraft for your Room of Requirement.
Unlocking this side quest permanently opens a handy secret shortcut between Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade. Exploring hidden routes adds great variety to standard gameplay while offering easy access to Hogsmeade shops. Managing spell combinations effectively ensures you finish every puzzle step without any unnecessary delays.
